1. We are high income with some generational wealth as well so I'm not concerned so much about resume issues and being mistaken for a stripper.
2. Our current circle of friends include babies named Olive, Poppy, Aster, 4 Violets, Green, January, Opal and Pippy, real name Persephone. I can't believe DCUM is in uproar about Cinnamon aka Cindy, but maybe we have really "out there" friends and everyone hates their kids names

Yeah, I wouldn't use that circle as a control group. I hope to God that Poppy is a nickname, but Green is just awful. Aster is kind of crappy, too.
Look, OP, if you like it, fine, but people are telling you that they think it sounds stupid. It's a ground bark that people use in baked goods. It does not have a history of being used as a name. People are going to find it odd. If you're okay with that, then use the name.
