Not everything fits in an Amazon locker. Got it?
Here's an idea: Go to the store.
If you live in an area with package theft AND you have jobs that do not allow you to telework/stay home periodically to pick up a package AND you don't know anyone that can pick up the box for your AND you don't know someone who lives in a safer area who would allow you to have the package sent ot them AND you have a job where the employer doesn't allow you to receive packages, then rent a postal box at the Post Office or local UPS store.
You made the choice to live where you live. You weighed the pros and cons of living there vs living elsewhere, so instead of whining about one of the cons that you accepted to live there, do something to compensate. And stop whining about a con that you accepted to live where you chose to live.
All the postal boxes at my local Post Office and UPS store are sold out.
Now what?

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:I don't understand the tolerance for package theft, like it is a normal activity in the urban areas.
I don't think there is a tolerance for it at all, however if you order a box and it sits on your porch whose fault is it if it is taken? Is it the fault of UPS or it is your fault for letting it sit in on your porch????
It is the fault of the person who stole it. When I see Amazon boxes I think electronics. Not having Amazon all over the box could help a bit. Just because you want it less obvious it's from Amazon doesn't mean you are blaming Amazon for the theft.

So what you are saying is everybody needs to have their packages sent to their offices now?![]()
Who is everybody? If you have a job and wont be HOME when a package is expected to arrive, then yes, ship it to your office. If someone is home during the day then send it to the house. It's not a difficult idea to grasp. "Everybody" doesn't have to ship to the office, but it's helpful if you're not home.
Also, have a neighbor grab it if they can.
Why is it on Amazon or Zappos to redesign "boxes" because you place an order? You get the shipping info and can track the shipment and can SEE when it's out for delivery... Either have it help at UPS or Fedex or be home to receive it.
NP here and as a Fed worker I can tell you that it would be frowned on if I had everything shipped to my office, especially because it all has to go through inspection first to make sure there nothing dangerous in the mail. Also a lot of the boxes I get are large or heavy and I wouldn't be able to carry them home esp. not on metro.
Great. We covered that 3 pages ago. Some people cannot receive personal mail at the office and some people ride the metro and packages can be too large to carry.
Bottom line seems to be - do what is best for you but if you order packages online and fear they might be lifted from your porch make arrangements for them to be held or for someone to grab them for you or just be home when they arrive.
You can be disciplined for using fed mail for your personal use, even if it's just receiving mail.

That isn't what they said. But hey, read stuff into it, sure. Make assumptions.
