My car (also keyless) is relatively soundless inside, so I see how it happens. Yet when you get out and stand beside the car -- it's obvious the engine is running when it shouldn't be -- esp. indoors where it's quiet, you wonder why the engine is still running.
Is this not the case for you OP? Or are your child's cries SOO loud/distracting?
We have a Prius and it's incredibly quiet, even when the gas engine is running. If there is nobody else around, you'd hear it. But if I'm getting out of the car and other people are talking and making noise, it would be easy to miss that the car is still running.
