White means all white. Think about the photographs. Any color other than white will pop and look bad.

I'm sure you can find something that's ALL white. Don't be the embarrassed guest who shows up in something not quite white!

Don't worry about being dressy. It's way better to arrive in white jeans and blouse, than a white gown full of other colors!

Maybe, you guys would be best served by starting another thread to post your imaginary, negative attributes about people you don't know. It doesn't have anything to do with how white a dress needs to be.

Don't do a pattern. Just do white or you will be "that" guest who is typically the one who wears white to a wedding when it's not requested.

what makes you think the brides aren't "making an effort"? OP said they aren't wearing gowns - not that they plan to wear pajamas. There's a lot of room between those two extremes for people to wear clothes that mark a special occasion.

Really? You mean the guy in the front, the only one wearing a jacket, doesn't strike you as the groom? And with only 3 people sitting you don't think that 2 of them are the bride and groom? I' not sure who the woman on the left is, but the two on the right sitting in the chairs clearly stand out as the bride and groom to me.

This thread made me curious, so I googled "all white wedding guests" and from 8-10 photos, first men seem to be able to get away with slightly off-color easier than women. There were scatterings of off-white (like light khaki, sand, etc) pants. A few wore white but with a colored tied. But generally men wear more casual dress than women to those types of weddings. It was pretty ubiquitous that they wear a white button down shirt, with or without a tie and white or slightly off-white pants.

I now remember that one time years ago we went on a cruise. In one port, we didn't dock, but tendered to the port. We shared a tender to port with guests going to a beach wedding that was all white and tendered back to the ship with most of the wedding party. The guys all wore island style shirts that had some nice braided work on the shirts in a slightly off-white sand color and they all wore sandals. The women were in various length white dresses, mostly casual to semi-formal.

You can google to see some pics of wedding wear the guests were instructed to wear white.

Most women wear just white - no bold print. A few may have some accent color on their outfit. Men seem to be able to get away with wearing light beige/tan or gray pants.
