Trump haters, he was released.


He was released after he turned himself in, at which time he was in custody. If he ran out of the police station at that time he would have been pursued, since he was - at that time - under arrest, prior to being released.



p.s., and yes, as noted, being charged is more serious (up the scale) from being arrested, so he was both under arrest (briefly) and then (and now) criminally charged.

That's the bigger point here, I wouldn't want that to happen in any campaign whether I support the candidate or not.


Trump literally said that he would appoint Supreme Court justices that would investigate Clinton's emails. Never mind that that is not the role of a Supreme Court justice, that is a blatant use of the justice system to play go after political opponents. If you are opposed to that sort of thing, you can't possibly support Trump.

It's already a non issue but this is what I also like about him. I do agree they all could have handled it much better. The reporter embellished it, then filed out of anger. Now she's out of a job. The campaign manager should have said right away he turned her around to prevent her from bothering Trump. Everyone's moving on to picking on Hillary now, and Cruz of course is jumping on any bandwagon he can. Quite entertaining this time around.

The Post makes it sound like the FL police need to act when there is a complaint filed (which Fields did do) and they have evidence to charge him. But the chances that he will be prosecuted are slim and that he will be punished are nil.

Trump defended the campaign manager on cnn yesterday night. I was impressed when he said it could be so easy to do the politically correct thing and fire this guy, ruin his career and break up his family. But I stand behind my manager. What I don't understand is why the campaign and Trump himself keep doubling down and lying about it. If they had just said from the beginning, yes, sorry, I grabbed her arm since I thought she was getting too close to the candidate, NONE of this would have happened. Now Trump just looks more and more nuts since he keeps doubling down and denying what we can all see with our own eyes. It's so nonsensical that this is even an issue, but they've made it into one by expecting us to disbelieve what we see.

So what? Do you only trust law enforcement who are Republicans? Should Democrats not be charged with misdemeanors if Republicans are bringing the charges? Certainly, every DA should be prepared with evidence in a politically charged situation, but the video is pretty damning, even setting aside other eyewitness testimony and evidence that the DA might have.
