OP, consider this. Have someone in your shower in socked feet or barefoot is riskier TO YOU than having them in there with shoes on. Not only can they drop something, but is not uncommon for guys to have athletes foot or some other type of foot fungus. So you are actually trading one risk for another more probable one. IMO
Nobody, but nobody, is going to get a foot fungus from standing in a bathtub that
1. first somebody with a foot fungus stood in, while wearing socks
2. next somebody cleaned
