Wendy's didn't just have salad bars. They had pasta and taco bars. I was obsessed with their pasta at these hot bars. I can still remember how it tasted. RIP Wendy's Superbar. Please come back.

I've never understood why they would stop making the.best.tasting.thing.ever.

I think it's because it won't work with the new Breyer's (after it was bought by Unilever). Have you eaten any Breyer's lately? It's disgusting. So full of stabilizers it's not even called ice cream anymore, but rather "frozen dairy dessert." Gone are the days of only "milk, cream, and sugar." To pollute a Viennetta with the new Breyer's product would be a sin.

This is my secret shame even now. I get the cheese one and put mushrooms from the jar or can on top (not actual fresh mushrooms) and then a little more mozzarella because they've gotten stingy with the cheese these days.

Tukey and stuffing was a close second.
We kids had them on saturday nights when my parents went out for a fancy dinner. We also watched love boat and fantasy island, great days.

So many of the ones that have already been posted: Chef Boyardee pizza & ravioli, the disgusting layer salad (the one my grandmother made had peas, cheese, raisins, carrots, Miracle Whip... Ick), Shake & Bake, cream of whatever casseroles...

Also adding Little Geno's Pizza Rolls, microwave milkshakes (wtf?), Toaster Strudels... I know all of this still exists, but I probably haven't eaten it since the 90s.

Chef boyardee canned ravioli
Wrangler hotdogs
7- up cake
Jello pudding cake where you took a wooden spoon handle and made holes in the cake and used pudding as frosting
Banquet fried chicken 8 piece box with bag of crinkle fries

Wendy's got rid of the salad bar?

We used to eat these weekday foods: creamed chipped beef on toast, "open face turkey" sandwiches with gravy using lunch meat turkey and boxed mashed potatoes, spaghetti, fish sticks with tater tots, and hamburger helper. Little Debbie desserts.

And my mom talks about how our family gets too much takeout and she alwAys made "home cooked" dinners. Lol.

Anonymous wrote:My mom always made "Olivia Salad". I'm not sure what it was really supposed to be called, or maybe it was a spin off of something else (but I know it wasn't really supposed to be called Olivia Salad). It was layered in a 9x13 glass dish: lettuce, mayonnaise, peas, shredded cheese. Maybe a couple things like chopped ham? Anybody else have this a lot in the 80s and 90s?

Oh hell yeah. Seven layer salad! Ours was always in a trifle dish for WOW factor

OH wow. My BFF in middle school and I would always laugh about the ads for those where the knife cut through it and it made this delicious-sounding "ssshhhlik!" Sound. I miss those!

Yes! That sound!

We still have shake and bake regularly as well
