Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Yes of course. You bring over a plate of brownies or cookies and introduce yourself. A card with your name and kids names and email/phone number is much appreciated too. You never know when they'll call you to let you know about a fire alarm going off in your house or a garage door that you left up.
I didn't know people still ate food from strangers.

People don't seem to understand that there is a reason why we don't bring you cookies and it's because we have met the other neighbors and we are now hiding.
Sadly, this is true in some close in areas.

We had to run to the hospital, so our neighbor watched our kids. My neighbor's house was cut in half by a tree, I climbed onto his roof and put my tarps over the hole to try and minimize damage before the professionals could get there. My wife has driven our neighbor to the hospital when he fell off of a ladder. Our neighbor uses his snowblower to do 3-4 other families' driveways. Many of us give each other cookies around the holidays, I would assume most of us eat it.
We previously lived in a new build neighborhood - everyone was extremely close because we moved in around the same time. It is a great time to introduce yourself and build your little community.

We do have one neighbor that I can call or text with if I need to. I love knowing someone is close to my home when I'm not that can make an assessment, if needed. I love knowing our neighbors and would happily welcome new neighbors.

wtf. Then give a $20 Home Depot gift card, a bottle of wine or a Yankee Candle (!!). Those were all gifts our neighbors gave us when we moved in.
Don't do this unless they are from WISCAAAAAANSINAnonymous wrote:Does anyone actually borrow a cup of flour??.
