Someone on Scotus blog thinks it will be AG Loretta Lynch. She's an interesting option too.

Ideally you would nominate a latina for maximum political backlash when the R's bork it.

Borking an asian-american just doesn't have the same impact for ginning up voters.

The court already has a Latino (whose been somewhat disappointing) and a black (who is an idiot). Isn't it time we stopped playing racial constituency politics with the court?

6-3 male-female balance is not acceptable.

There's a special place in hell for those who are not supporting another woman on the Supreme Court.

Alabama and the Ten Commandments. Yeah, he'd be perfect.

What's wrong with Alabama and the 10 Commandments? The people will ultimately decide. Everything depends on the election. If Trump or Cruz are elected President, I think Moore has a good shot.

The people already did decide. In November 2012. When they elected President Obama. He will nominate a new justice, and the Senate will decide whether to do it's job and give advice and decide whether to consent. Or they will decide not to do their job, and not give an up or down vote. As Senator McConnell has previously stated is the only right thing to do.

Paula Nakayama of the Hawaii Supreme Court. Asian-American, woman, and, at age 62, could possibly get past the Republican Senate since she wouldn't be on the court that long.

I think he would be a good choice. He has a decent chance of getting confirmed without too much circus and poop flinging.
I'm sure in some ways he's too liberal for my preference, but all in all, he seems to be a sane and rational person that would be representative of our country which (IMO) is relatively moderate.

scotusblog (probably the best scotus-watcher site on the net) thinks it'll be Loretta Lynch or Paul Watford as the initial nomination.

When people actually vote, it is demonstrated that ours is a center left country.

I think that's hard to say because it completely depends on who shows up. But I think most people are fairly centrist, unfortunately, the fringe element tends to take over both sides.

Clown post, bro.

Truth hurts, bruh.

Fact is, the Republicans have stacked every major Committee Assignment with wackjobs like Phil Robertson. I mean, just look at Jim Inhofe, chairing the Energy and Environment Committee... Wat Da Fuq. No, he doesn't have the beard, but without a doubt, he's even more of a wackjob than the Robertsons. And there are plenty more examples I could throw at ya.

Your post suggested that the Rs would "put someone" like a reality tv star on the S.Ct. That's a clownish observation.

David Axelrod said he would pick Sri Srinivasan or Jane Kelly, both appellate judges who were confirmed recently and unanimously by the Senate. I assume he thinks similarly to Obama.

Gore did go to law school. But I missed that he dropped out before graduating -- to run for Congress.

Oh well. It's true that he doesn't have to be a lawyer, but I wouldn't want someone hampered by a lack of knowledge and experience. And someone younger than Gore at this point would be good, too.
