Over the past 3 years, Brent has had the following number (%) of IB waitlisted students: 68 (45.6%), 41 (36.6%) , 73 (58.9%). Not sure if this is only PK3 data, or if it also includes PK4. Seems like kind of a 50/50 proposition for IB kids.

It just isn't true. The poster up thread assured us all that the registrar does home visits!


We all know the Brent Registrar does not conduct home visits. Home visits for ECE children by the teachers can be done at the school or at home, it's a parents choice.

Round 1 lottery results shows 14 OOB with siblings enrolled and 6 more OOB with siblings accepted waitlisted at LT for this current school year.

Did LT drop an PK3 class for the 2015-2016 school year? Looks like a former ECE teacher (Morrison) moved to K but rest of the lineup stayed ECE (Fickling, Sutherland, Townes, Campbell, Johnson). If this is the case, yes, it would definitely impact how many PK3 kids would get in off the waitlist.

None are wait listed for inbounds.

Out of curiosity, 15:52, how many families inbounds for Ludlow-Taylor are still waitlisted for PK3 this year? Are there OOB with siblings kids still waitlisted?

You are correct. Peabody still has at least 19 IB families on the waitlist - probably more. I can't seem to access myschooldc anymore but I was #20 of 39 and never got in. If IB Brent families got in, there was some serious monkey business.


That can't be so!!! That other woman used "honey" in her reply and insisted she knew what she was talking about. How dare you reply with "facts" and your own personal experience? I don't know about you guys but I'm sticking with third hand BS and people with information and experiences that are 2-5 years stale.

But seriously, thanks for chiming in with actual data and facts.

Peabody had IB families 39 deep on the waitlist this year.


But didn't the Peabody WL clear by the second week of school? I thought that a couple of Brent families got in for PreS3 in October.


I would be shocked if that was true. Didn't someone post earlier in this thread that they're inbounds for Peabody and still waitlisted?

I've been hearing such good things about Van Ness that I suspect it will be WAY more popular next year and can't be considered a sure thing for PK3. Will likely draw a lot of inbounds Tyler and Amidon-Bowen folks as well as Brent. Maybe even from other parts of the Hill and East of the River.
