I have nothing constructive to say really, but I want to add that the anti-muslim sentiments based on the actions of a few make me sad and angry. I guess I wish that the quiet majority of which I have to believe I am a part was able to be louder than the very vocal fear- and hate-mongering few (I'm looking particularly at you, Fox News).

Don't see much crime comitted in the name of Atheism. I see tons of stupid evil stuff in the Old Testament and the Quran, and people doing horrible things based on the things in there. No purported superior being would be in any way associated with the crap in there.

If you are referring to my post (the one before yours) my point was that THEIR god (the terrorist’s) is clearly not the God worshipped by peace loving Muslims and Christians.
I find it ironic that they refer to their god in such kind terms, then turn around and cause destruction and death in this god’s name.


Because they don't truly believe in the religion. They simply coopt the language and identity to gain strength. It helps that there is no strong central leadership to out right say, "Uh, you're wrong."

What I would like to see is good Muslims not only denouncing terrorist acts in the name of Allah but also denouncing or at least clarifying/revising the scripture verses terrorist use to justify their violence. Denouncing the motive is more meaningful than denouncing the violent act.

Atheists aren't banning together, killing the "enemy," in the name of a non-god.

Most of the people I hear use the term “Islamic terrorists” preface it with “Radical” in order to differentiate those Muslims who are peace-loving from those that are not.

There was nothing merciful or beneficent about what these monsters did in Paris. Or, to the Russian plane. Or, in Syria. Or, anywhere else where they wreak havoc.


Extremists base their views on the same texts moderates do. A vulnerable moderate - if pushed, if in the right place at the right time - can be swayed. It doesn't take much to use a text - written during a time period that no longer applies to modern day - to sway a person if the conditions are right.
