They split in the summer and I saw my friend's husband in September so yes, after the split. I have no idea why they split.

If I were the wife, I would want to know. And I wouldn't care if it were from an acquaintance. I wouldn't want to be the last one to know, and I certainly wouldn't want to waste my time on a cheater.

I bet ya he is already planning ahead on what he is going to tell his wife about seeing you when he was with this other lady.

He probably has started bashing your character so that if you DO spill the beans to your friend, she will already be jaded against you.

If you choose you can let her know, but know this will not go over very well.

For instance, to use OP's example- she isn't telling. Which is good because for whatever reason, even though it seems like she and her husband are separated, she hasn't told her friends. So let's say you see a friend's husband out and tell her and she's now forced to tell you they separated on YOUR forced timeline. Or she says nothing and you continue on thinking she's being a fool whose husband is cheating. It's not fair to dictate how someone handles their own life and by forcing information on them, you are. I'm glad OP isn't telling.
