Glad the date changed. But, op, simmer down, seriously. Not everything happens with bad intent, as you arrogantly suggested.

I have to work Good Friday every year. Religiously Easter is a much bigger deal than Christmas.

You're right. I have no idea what CHRISTmas could have to do with Jesus.

I know, right? Particularly since Jesus was born in March.

Exactly what I thought. Not sure why people find it necessary to make a big deal about everything instead of just calling the school directly and waiting for a response. We live in Northern Virginia, I think FCPS is pretty tolerant and accommodating to different religions when making schedules. Mistakes happen, no need to call people intolerant, etc. before you figure out if there was an error.

This!

If you object to Christmas perhaps consider it in 1776.

Or did they change it? Guess we'll never know...

Upon realizing the error they will change it to 9/30

FCPS does a good job trying to keep all happy. Look at Feb 15 on the Calendar of Religious and Cultural Observances. FCPS is so politically correct that the birthday of the man who led our troops in the American revolution and was our first president is just a cultural observance. I quite frankly object to that and the calendar should be called United States of America Historical Dates, Religious, and Cultural Observances. FYI schools used to have May Day and now we have Cinqo de Mayo.

OP here, I was pretty sure it was an oversight, but it get frustrating to constantly have to be hyper-vigilent for such conflicts. It is not hard to check a calendar before scheduling an event. Almost every year, there is something. Sometimes, it is rescheduled, sometimes it isn't.

I have run into this in college, professional, and social. I was pleasantly surprised by the response I got from the school -- not just the actions, but the tone.

Seriously? I guess it's just a coincidence that Christmas just happens to fall during Winter Break. Well golly gee.
