Personally, I don't really like them on black or white people.
There's a white cashier/worker at one of the grocery stores where I shop with dreads and they look so messy and it just looks terrible on her.

I'm white. I don't care what black people do with their hair, but dreads on wbite people are dreadful. And in my experience, smelly. To get them started on white people you have to not wash your hair for weeks. Just disgusting.
