Pretty normal for an 8 year old to care whether her friends will be at her new school. Obviously there is no right to have this information.

The school does get a list. Our principal congratulated our child the next day.


That's interesting. I've had 2 DC apply and both times the principal asked a parent whose child had also applied to informally ask parents if their child was accepted. Otherwise she did not know number or names of students from our ES who were accepted
