Any more updates? I think these snow days might delay even more decisions....

Does that mean accepted? What is active admissions pool?

Nope, it's a waiting list basically.

We got our think letter too. The note says they had a high number of sibling applicants.

Has anyone not heard from FMS? We didn't get a call, but no rejection letter yet either.

You're right. It is sad (and annoying, and over-the-top), but if I want my kid to go to ANY preschool next year within a 15 minute drive of my house I don't have a choice but to participate in the preschool rat race. If you have a better idea, please enlighten me Oh Condescending One.

Agree with this poster. Need something that won't add anothet 15 min to an already long commute. Multiply that twice a day, ten times a week. Geography really matters.

Director here. Not of one of these prestigious preschools, but our preschool is pretty good. And let me say, we balance by age and gender and also want to feel that parents will be involved because that's our philosophy. But please don't take this personally! I had one room that took mostly boys because the kids staying in the room were girls, etc. We had lots of siblings and alums who wanted care in one room so that took a lot of spaces there. And we have already had some movement in that some parents aren't taking the spaces offered...

I'm busy trying not to take it personally that parents have declined our offers, so it works both ways!

Good luck! Both my kids have gone to St. Columba's - the first year we got wait listed and I was on pins and needles. After the WL letter I called right away to tell them we were 100% interested and we would take the spot if offered. Also, I wrote a letter to the head of school saying something similar.
