Joe Lonsdale is worth a heck of a lot more than a Vienna anesthesiologist.

Bigger stakes these days. Read that a lot of Tiger moms wanted more than the run of the mill lawyer, doctor, IB DH for their DDs after Zuckerberg married his Asian GF.

The mother is definitely way too involved (to say the least). Does anyone know her IRL?

You have to scroll to the second page where she writes a multi-page letter explaining why she is so troubled. The whole letter sounds crazy and made up. I am surprised that the NYT did this story at all, it seems to do a disservice to women who have suffered rape because it emphasizes a murky case of he said/she said.

OMG, this crazy bitch is exhausting.

+1 She sounds very disturbed.

+2 and her mother is worse

I hate her. Falsely claiming rape is a vile act, and its much more common than you think. Maybe of those going to the police the percentage is whatever is widely accepted (5%???), but of the social claims, the number is much higher.

Why the hate? Did she sue you too?

I don't hate hwr. I don't love her either.

She's just one exhaustive crazy ass bitch. I too couldn't get through the whole rambling mess.

That was not the point at all. She was still in college. They were in completely different stages of life.

So multi-millionaires can only date multi-millionaires and women can't date men that have graduated from college. Any other rules? How about famous people can only date other famous people?

If you're going to be willfully obtuse, there's really no sense in arguing with you.

What you're talking about isn't 'different stages of life', it's 'status' and is bullshit. If she were 14 and he were 21, that's different stages of life and a 14 yo can't give consent. At 21, she was a woman, well traveled, experienced and had a privileged upbringing. In terms of mental development, their frontal lobes were at about the same maturation level. Whatever. The issue here is that she's a nut job. If he had any life experience, he would have known to run from a woman like her. Life lesson for him.

Did you read her letter (see link above)? You wouldn't ask that if you had. She is seriously deranged and needs mental help.

I'm impressed that you made it that far. I couldn't get past the first page of craziness. He was dumb to not immediately and carefully break up with her.

She can still go to the police now. Stanford's decision does not impact a criminal investigation.

True. It makes me skeptical of her case if she didn't.

I think when schools receive such accusations, they should immediately hand it to the police and let them determine guilt. If the accused is guilty, then take appropriate university action like expel them or whatever the case may be.
