Subject: How often does your husband cook dinner
I am one of the ones who said DH never ever makes dinner but he does more other "house" type work than me so it is fair.
BUT, that said, I am tired of making all the dinners. it is getting old. I hate cooking. It is boring. It is routine. I would love to have someone make me a dinner once in a while (and pick it all up too like I do)..My sister's DH cooks for her every single night. she realizes she is blessed. He loves to cook and she is lucky.

I cook just about all the dinners. DH might make a weekend dinner every now & then, but I'm the one home in time to make dinner week nights and I enjoy cooking so when i have more time on the weekends, I like to make something special.
But he pulls his weight in our marriage, with the children, around the house. We don't believe equal has to mean the same. Cooking is something I do more of, but he does plenty of other things, like getting the kids up, fed, and dressed in the morning and packing her lunches.

Never ever ever. Well, maybe 5 times in 15 years.
BUT he does do the breakfasts.
He commutes and is not home in time to make dinner. Plus I do the grocery shopping so he doesn't know what we have to eat. Also, he does a lot around the house. We are remodeling and he spends more hours doing this and even works on it while I am watching tv and surfing the web. I have more down time than him if truth be told. So I feel like I can't complain about dinners. If I don't feel like cooking, I zap frozen food and he never complains.

wow, I'm surprised with how many "nevers"--I thought I was alone. DH will cook if I'm not home--maybe burgers, pasta, or heat up stuff--but I do nearly all the "real" cooking and while I used to love to cook, I'm tired of the responsibility--or rather, tired of cooking something that everyone will eat. I would love to cook for just me and DH, but the kids kind of ruin it 
. On the other hand, the very few times he has cooked, it takes him like 2 hours to make what I would make in 20 minutes (he is not a good multitasked, he would be the first to admit). So, he gets up earlier and gets breakfast for the kids, often lunch, and he does many, many of the 9 pm grocery runs because we are never organized enough for peapod and somehow we can't really shop for everything on the weekend--something always runs out, and he's willing to go to safeway at 9 pm whereas I am not.

He gave me coupons for Xmas that I could cash in for a night off washing dishes. I am unable to cash in those coupons because even with the coupon that HE gifted to me, he doesnt follow through.

Same here, and he does the majority of the cleaning. I do the majority of the errands. He works about 10 more hours per week than I do. We are both happy with the arrangement.

Never, but he cleans up, fetches take out when we order it, and never ever complains about what I cook. He is also the designated leftover guy, makes "off schedule" grocery runs, and will do what I ask him to do in the kitchen.
