That did that sound better in your head?

Does it feel like comeuppance? It's simply an explanation of why a believer might not be used to dissent. Was it comeuppance when Blacks and women expected to be treated equally?

Constantly nitpicking believers on DCUM isn't going to make any progress toward whatever might be your goal. Equality? Tolerance? Shaming religion? You're really spinning your wheels, my friend.

I hardly think any person providing evidence is spinning his/her wheels.

In fact, I'd say the religious adherent is spinning his/her wheels.

to spin one's wheels
explanation: to use a lot of effort without achieving anything

What have Jesus' followers accomplished? The bible includes the four gospels. The four gospels discuss Jesus' life. While Jesus may be blip in 2-3 other sources, there is no talk of his miracles.

so . . .

You mention evidence. To what does the evidence point? What are you trying to prove with your evidence?

Who taught you how NOT to argue properly?

I'm the poster you quoted. I was referring to this line, "I hardly think any person providing evidence is spinning his/her wheels."

I wasn't clear what that person meant by evidence. Evidence for what?

what is your goal in trying to quiet the atheist voice on DCUM?

Looking for clarity, not quiet. Can you help me with that? As a regular atheist poster can you tell me what keeps you coming back here. Maybe you want to make sure the atheist voice is represented and validated.

the question implies that it's weird for an atheist to be interested in religion. Is that what you think? Atheists often know more about religion than "the faithful" because they have made an effort to study it before rejecting it. Atheists often think religion is a very important topic, especially these days, when it's so involved in politics and terrorism.

No, it's not weird. I understand an atheist being here and commenting, I don't understand discounting religion on most threads, regardless of topic. Not saying you do that, but some here do it regularly.

I see this is confusing so maybe I'll pose the question when I see it playing out again.

No. I don't believe in him in the first place.
