Have concerned neighbors who look out for each other, spend time on the front porch, etc.

Unless someone followed you in, there was no way they could get in. Unfortunately we learned that the hard way when we left our keys inside and shut the front door which locks automatically. Not even the landlord has copies of keys. Just the way many houses are designed in that city.

I've never felt so safe and at times we had up to 15,000 pesos in the house!

Sounds like a dysfunctional country,

Always lock doors, even when I'm home.

Don't people always lock their doors when they are home????

That's funny, I got robbed while getting ready for work when I lived in 22207. Scary and I had to run out of the house wearing nothing but spanx and bra. Thankfully I was too scared to feel embarrassed.

No, never. Not until we go to bed. Why would we lock ourselves in? Plus the kids going in and out all day..that's just odd to me to keep locking the door.

Facial recognition technology

Reinforced doors

No sliding glass door

Alarm

Safe room

Motion activated lighting

No landscaping that obstructs views

Old cars--we just don't care

Legos. Legos everywhere. And when that doesn't work there are strategically placed piles of sporting equipment.

Many law enforcement types living in my hood so no need for extra precautions. Lights all around the house on at dusk, garage closed and cars parked inside, blinds drawn, no outside handles on the security gate, tall privacy fence. We feel our neighborhood is safe. So safe there are runners and walkers out at all times because a lot of people living here do shift work. I feel very very safe and secure where I live.

Mine, too. It's awesome Every one should have a dog. At least they earn their keep.

You live in a quiet suburb, I take it. This would be a nightmare on our busy street. Woof woof woof all day long.

How the hell would you hear a dog on a busy street? Moron.

...are you serious? if I am that guy's neighbor and the dog is barking nonstop all day, I'm going to hear it. especially if our houses/condos/apartments are connected

Or if you're the one who lives with the dog?
