Snotty women are everywhere, OP. Truly, it's not about you and you look for people who are kindred spirits. Even if it's one or two of you, it's quality over quantity.

PP here who mentioned making jokes about being in PA when I'm up 270.

I would agree that working helps and there is snotty everywhere -- some places are just more concentrated. When I said that I'm fairly familiar with snotty, I do not mean the schools my kids attend as they are PC, Eastern, and Blair. I do run into it when folks are bussed in from other districts for the magnet programs and I have to hear about their home school.

I would only say that the OP is not crazy to pick up that vibe where she is. I would also say that if you don't like it, there are many other neighborhoods within MCPS with good schools and a different snotty-factor. I have a friend who moved from Manhattan and she found Bethesda unbearable. It's not unheard of for folks to find that area 'snotty' and condescending and materialistic.

THIS is why I work, instead of hanging out in the school parking lot gossiping for hours. yes, you gals know who you are! FWIW, my kids go to "THE" W school in MCPS and I have yet to run into any snooty parents.

Mine go there too and agree. I usually come across parents at sports games or volunteering in some way (Post Prom, etc.) and everyone is really friendly and down to earth. There is one super competitive dad of a kid on one of my DCs sports teams who I think is over the top but he's not snooty.
