I don't the proposals are at that level of specificity yet. Is there a particular option/proposal you have in mind?

It may be that they think it makes sense to monitor the enrollment trends for a longer period at the other middle schools before making a decision.
While the causes of the variance between the elementary and high school enrollment projections are not known at this time, it is obvious that long-range projections will need to be modified as a result of the shifting dynamic currently underway. The majority of the capital funding is slated toward providing capacity relief at the elementary level. If the current trend were to continue for another year or two then the priorities within the CIP would need to shift toward the middle and high schools.

Question - some of their solutions are to create AAP centers in schools so that overcrowded centers are helped. These changes take no capital funds. When they suggested it in elementary schools, they are suggested a timeline of 1-2 years. When they suggest it for middle school, the timeline is over the 3 year mark. Why?

I don't know how that could possibly involve 250 students (see Attachment C - Map 10 at p. 11). Most Thoreau kids go the the Jackson AAP center, not Kilmer. The only exception seems to be the Kilmer AAP kids at Freedom Hill and Stenwood who have Thoreau as their base school, and I don't think anywhere close to 250 kids fall in that category, since Kilmer is the base school for most Freedom Hill and Stenwood kids. That's what made me think this option must involve moving other Kilmer AAP kids to Thoreau. Guess the actual details would emerge later if that option got some real traction.

But there still appear to be errors in the Attachment D numbers. As an example, Braddock does not feed to Belvedere as shown on page 42.
