Its not the school that does its the PTA. They get permission from the school to hold these events. As for the PP who lost her husband, I am so sorry for your loss and I agree wholeheartedly that the name should be changed. I will suggest to my PTA.

That is my thinking also.


Unfortunately dealing with school stuff tends to default to the mom Which is why I think some PTA started having dad only events.

I chair the scholastic book fair and the have an optional event where a child can invite any kind of special person on their lif to attend. I think its a nice touch.

The before/after care at out school is hosting a "pancakes with parents" which I think, is a great idea. Of course, it also states that gaurdians are considered "parents" as well.

My husband died and DD had a hard time with donuts for dads this year. I took her out to breakfast before school that day but after dropping her off I cried all the way to work. So I would really appreciate just a pastries for parents. Or doing something else entirely.
