If you can continue to wear your work out clothes AFTER you've worked out, you are clearly not working very hard. A real work out typically generates at least some perspiration. Please, go home and shower! Or just quit pretending that you're wearing gym clothes because you intend to exercise. You're in it for the fashion. Own it.

I am a SAHM and wear real clothes always unless going to actually work out. I will admit to wearing yoga pants while my c-section incision was healing but I assume I get a pass on that one.

I've been a sahm for about 4 years. I don't wear 'workout gear' all day, never have. I change my clothes before/after going to the gym or a yoga class. Even if I'm sweaty, I feel better in regular clothes and - perk of being a sahm - I can shower pretty much whenever I want during the day.

For years, I worked from home and even then wasn't one of the people who wore workout clothes or pajamas all day. I don't judge people for it; I just don't feel like my day has really started unless I 'get ready' for it -- not that I look very fancy on a daily basis (tank top or tshirt and pants/shorts/shirt) and I'm very active with my child (bike, park, gardening, etc.). It's a mental state for me, I suppose, more than an appearance issue.

I'm almost always wearing workout clothes. My reasons are as such:

- I lost a lot of weight, dropped 5 dress sizes, and my old clothes no longer fit me
- It's summer. It's hot outside. I can wear black capris comfortably, and still spend time outside or being busy doing errands. Skirts make me cold indoors, and it's too hot for jeans and regular pants.
- I do have some "normal" clothes, but they're limited. Buying a whole new wardrobe is expensive.
- I can cut down on costs by keeping my wardrobe limited to workout clothing/layers
- I exercise 6 days a week. Occasionally 2x a day.
- I walk a lot, outdoors
- It's comfortable
- I'm in pretty good shape now. Not one to brag, but I have pretty spectacularly shaped legs now

I think it's silly for anyone to need to defend themselves for this ridiculous question, but those are my reasons.

Because it's comfortable.

WOH mom here and, ummm... if I were a SAHM I would most definitely wear workout clothes (not the tight uncomfortable stuff, but like cotton tanks and yoga pants) all day long. Why the hell not? Plus, I get so messy when I stay around my toddler on weekends, I wouldn't want to risk ruining expensive clothes!

I do a body sculpt class at the gym 2 days a week that is intense but does not make me sweat so much, so I dont shower after that.

Not this poster, but sometimes I even go lay back down in bed to nap before showering cause I'm so beat from my workout. I know at least 2 other people that admit to this, so i know I'm not alone lol

I am a SAHM in the summer, teacher during the year. Workout clothes are my uniform when I'm a pretend SAHM. It's just one of the job perks. However when we go to story hour I jazz it up with a summer cotton skirt.

Me too ! I smell like the gorilla at the zoo after a run. I wear workout clothes all day but they're clean and so am I.

You have an official dispensation to wear your tennis dresses, on condition that you don't believe that your tennis dresses are better than somebody else's yoga pants. Because

1. they're not, and
2. the whole point is, it's not anybody else's business anyway.

Because caring for kids IS a workout in case one hasn't noticed.

It's constant chasing around, bending down, picking up, lifting, etc.

Duh.

So workout wear is the perfect gear to wear.

Better than heels and a mini-dress.
