I assume Wake has wealthier students top to bottomi, where as the wealthy at UVA are largely concentrated in your “top” high-status Greek chapters.

I didn't even know they had a Med School. No one I know or any doctor I see went there.
My brother-in-law went to med school at Wake and did his residence at Harvard. Is one of the top pediatric heart surgeons in the nation. I swear he works 30 hours a week and pulls in millions.
Yes but dumbass has never heard of it so it sucks.
I've never heard if it either. Ranks 61 out of 93 med schools. That's not saying much.
Kind of missing the point. Poster’s knowledge of a school is no indicator of value.

People north of maryland view VA as a state in whole. When "nova" has shit like 'jefferson davis highway', it isn't all that different from 'rova' as much as it claims to be
Yup it is similar. And thankfully both nova and rova don't have the supercilious Maryland attitude that you have
If you think Arlington "isn't all that different from" from Richmond, Norfolk or Roanoke you are fooling yourself. There is a a gradual transition so that parts of Fairfax county aren't all that different from Fredericksburg, but NOVA is distinct.
I see people tote hand guns like the wild west in arlington - just like in "rova".
I'm just saying how people from PA and points north see VA - as one big state without such clear distinction. You might think there is, but you are more Virginian than anything else.
As someone who is from ROVA who now lives in NOVA, I can tell you that NOVA is indeed different from the rest of the state, which for me is NOT a good thing. I’d much rather live in Richmond or Tidewater than the pretentious douchebags up here.
Yes, thank you! I was raised in NOVA, but have spent my adult life in various ROVA cities and you couldn’t pay me to live in NOVA again. Thank god I fell in with a ROVA crowd at UVA and met my ROVA husband soon after.
In all seriousness, you are an outlier. I grew up in McLean/Vienna, and most people love it here even after moving away. It’s home, despite its flaws. You are an outlier.

Anonymous wrote:Someone on here is on a pro-UVA and WF rant. But IMO, as someone very familiar with both, they would likely not appeal to the same kid. Yes, they both have a Southern, conservative, Greek feel. But UVA is a large national university, with all of the reassures that come with that, but also the large campus and large classes. Whereas is really move like a SLAC than a national university. Wake focuses on undergrad, not grad schools. And it has the college town, which Wake does not.
The more natural overlap is UVA and UNC (and less selectively UGA). Wake has a lot more in common with WM, Davidson, W&L and many Emory and Vanderbilt than UVA.
