^ it would be informative if someone knows whether TJ has a waitlist and how many get in off the waitlist. My guess is a few but not many.

There are 8 million stories in the Naked City. This is but one of them. Of course there's a correlation. See TJ's college admission stats for example.
Is that because they are smart--or did TJ make them smart? Get real. These kids would have done well at any school.

I'm so sick of hearing about TJ. Plenty of super-smart kids getting into great colleges at all the other high schools as well. Some of them (gasp) chose NOT to attend TJ.
you mean they applied and then got accepted and chose not to attend? Then why bother applying?
Unless you really meant some chose not to apply - which I'm sure is true.
Some kids change their mind. Some kids think it wold be cool in the abstract, but when they face the actual decision choose differently. Some kids choose differently once they really think about it- weighing the pluses and minuses. Some kids feel like they have to apply - peer and/or parent pressure. Especially when they are 13 or 14! Quite a bit can change from the fall to the spring of 8th grade.

What a complete waste of time...then don't apply.
