I'm not a fan of the suit pattern way too busy, but the actual structure/shape is great

I proudly rock a size 10 bikini at the pool. Round tummy, wide butt, love handles and all. I feel super sexy in a bikini and it doesn't impede me from playing with the kids. That's all I really care about.

Not to sound snarky....promise, but how do you get to that place where you feel sexy about your body? I have serious body issues, and even though I am thin, I never feel thin enough or perfect enough. I am very self-conscious in a bathing suit of any kind. I just feel like people are staring and judging me...even though they are not. Anyway, I would love to be more like you.

No...it is a self-respect thing. Sorry, but there are certain things that no one needs to see. Before you can tell me I should look away. I can't. It's like watching a train wreck...you just can't look away.

Has it ever occurred to you that the woman in the bikini isn't the problem? It's actually you. Human bodies are the most natural thing in the world, and if looking at them in all the amazing different shapes and sizes they come in feels like watching a train wreck, you probably have some issues you need to work out.

I like the OP's bikini choice. The pattern is cool.

I am 43 and wear bikinis with a little less coverage than that. I'm thin, but not a gym type body.

I love seeing women who are a little older or heavier or whatever looking comfortable in skimpy suits. And I think its cool to see young hotties in more conservative vintage inspired one pieces suits. Just go for whatever you feel right wearing, and don't let some judgmental women bring you down.

Pardon?

If you're at the point where you're asking if a suit is age appropriate, then maybe you should consider moving away from that style of suit. I'm 39 and haven't felt like bikinis were age appropriate for at least the last five years, if not more. Bikini to me screams "trying to show off body, looking for mate". That's just a stage I'm well past.

NP here. This is so sad. Enjoy your burqa, I guess.

Ha. Because burqa is the only alternative to bikini?

I'm not sad. I've just grown up past the point where I think it's necessary to show as much of my body as possible. Bikinis have never been about water sport appropriate gear - that would be a two piece more like a tankini or a one piece. Bikinis are about showing off your body. At a certain point, it just looks...desperate.

Perhaps my view is colored by my childhood experience of my very fit stepmom frequently wearing bikinis (mid 30s through maybe early 40s). We were all horribly embarrassed by her. Our friends would snicker. My older brother's friends didn't know how to handle that much mom body/ass/boobs on display. It was generally horrifying. I don't want to be that woman who ought to know better by now.

For the pool with the kids, I'd wear something more like what you posted.

Hey, I have had 2 kids and worked hard for my flat tummy and high and tight ass. It won't last forever, so while I got it, I'm going to wear a bikini.

Wow, that is one UGLY suit.

I love it and wish I had the body and balls to wear it. For me I'd have to be flawless to slip into that tiny thing.

I never intended to tell you to look away. If my body intrigues you be my guest.

Another poster who non-snarkily thinks the bikini stepmom PP needs therapy. I'm being serious. It's sad that decades later your perspective on this hasn't changed from your childlike view of the situation.

Honestly, the pattern is not my favorite, and I don't like those kids of bikini tops, makes your boobs saggy. If you have a good body go for it! Most importantly, if it makes you feel good go for it.

I'm always amazed at how we Americans are so self conscious of our bodies and in bathing suits. I'm sure plenty of you have gone to Europe, those women just don't CARE!!! They wear Brazilian bikinis, thong bikinis you name, and they are not 5'11 140lbs. They are over weight, and just don't care, but they wear a bikini.

I would totally wear that, and I'm 42. (I work out daily and have good abs.) the bottom has good coverage, and if you're not super-busty, the top would too.

Hey, I don't mind anyone rocking a bikini at any age, but it is NOT that hard to pee in a one piece. You just pull the crotch to the side! Done.

Eeek. I thought it was cute. Does everyone else think it is hideous?!

I think it's hideous too, because of the pattern. But OP - rock the bikini! I think the cut of it is super cute and totally appropriate.
