Actually for a really great grilled cheese, that is the perfect cheese to use, along with a little bit of cheddar. But I understand you were trying to insult those of us who don’t like goat cheese. People like you are so two dimensional and boring. It is possible to appreciate appropriately used Kraft singles AND more sophisticated cheeses as well. And goat cheese is hardly the only “high class” cheese on the market. But do go on eating your super trendy goat cheese and beet salads, hoping people notice how “sophisticated” you are.![]()
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!! Enjoy life in your trailer park.

I LOVE it. It's my favorite type of milk for cheese. I do prefer soft goat cheese to hard goat cheese, though. If I'm going to eat a hard cheese, my favorite is Comte, but it does not travel well - the best is at the farm in the Jura mountains in France. Divine.
The best American goat cheese is the Humboldt Fog from Cypress Grove Chevre (California), available at Whole Foods.
Comte is made with cow milk, not goat milk.
OP and PPs who don’t like goat cheese - have you tried really fresh goat cheese? There are some cheese makers who sell at area markets. The cheese is usually made on Friday for weekend sales. It doesn’t have the funkiness that supermarket cheese has. I never buy any other kind of fresh goat cheese. Give it a try before you make up your minds for good!
