What if Lodato's mother (unharmed during the incident) was the intended target? She's the wife of a (late) prominent judge. Nancy Dunning was the wife of the sheriff (at the time).

Ok, so? If the suspect was someone who had been sentenced by the judge (say, 30 years ago), they could still be holding a grudge even if the judge passed away years ago.

Lodato's brother is a retired judge as well.

Could the shooter be related in some way to the caretaker, like an ex boyfriend of the caretaker, goes to her work, and then.....

I don't know if Ruthanne was married/divorced/widowed, but I did read a statement from a neighbor that the only other person who lived in the house (besides Ruthanne and possibly the caretaker) was her elderly mother.


Quoting my own post..the neighbor statement may have been incorrect..from what I can find so far she was married.

My heart breaks for the family.

the police "cleared" her husband. it was some of the public that suspected her husband was somehow involved.


Wasn't he a police officer, too? Did another independent agency "clear" him?


he was the sheriff of alexandria. technically, the sheriff's department and the police department are separate law enforcement agencies.

i'm not saying he didn't have anything to do with it, i'm just clarifying that the police never named the sheriff as a suspect or a person of interest.
