In your zeal to defend PP's husband, your nastiness and accusatory attitude got in the way. Now you have opened up a can of worms that shouldn't be here. Nobody hates cops but your attitude doesn't help.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Because DH's purpose is punitive while garbage men make your life easier by getting rid of the crap you don't want. Not the cop's wife but her DH's purpose is not punitive; his purpose is to uphold the law. If someone is being punished, it's due to their own free will in choosing to break the law.
Feel free to give the officer's DW your address so he knows not to show up when you need his services. But of course he will anyway, regardless of your attitude towards him. Because he's that kind of man.
Same here. I encounter the same garbage men twice a week who wave when they're pulling off from my house. I've never had a police officer wave at me other than to wave me over with 50 others to check car registrations. Upholding the law.Anonymous wrote:Let's see....tip the trash collectors or tip the police who while doing their job to uphold the law which they are being paid to do, paid to show up when called, etc.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Because DH's purpose is punitive while garbage men make your life easier by getting rid of the crap you don't want. Both have difficult jobs but Mr. Policeman is no better than Mr. Garbageman. They both have jobs to do. And by the way, not everybody is punished because they 'chose' to break the law. Plenty of innocent folks can attest to that but I digress.
I choose to tip the garbagemen. Have a nice day.
PP here. Meant to say you might remember that about garbage men too.Anonymous wrote:Maybe the reason nobody chases down dh to give him a gift card is that they might get blown away if they chase him. Unintentionally, of course. But seriously, like garbagemen, they do jobs most people don't want. Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Why do the non tippers on here care if people want to tip? I personally don't tip the trash guys but have no issue of course with people that do.
Probably because it sets an unofficial expectation to tip. So maybe in the future, the non-tippers don't get as good service because they don't tip. And the trend seems to be growing to include other types of services while other services are not included.

I make over $100/hour and still love a $20 tip (free lunch).
As your annual bonus? Quit the crap.
When did you hire all the garbage guys? You probably can not afford even one.
Stop playing (?) dumb.
