Are the Marcona almonds back for winter? They disappeared last year and I really liked them.

The dark chocolate star cookies were there tonight! My other picks (admittedly heavy on the junk, but I am okay with that).
Freezer section: steamed pork buns, vegetable egg rolls, these mini "piccolo" cheese and pesto crustless sandwiches, wild salmon, green tea mochi ice cream balls, frozen mango chunks and frozen blueberries
Middle aisles: pink Himalayan salt, garlic powder, truffle salt, pumpkin pie spice, garlic olive oil (great prices), Barbara's brown sugar shredded wheat and golean crunch
Fresh aisle: pomegranate seeds, shredded cabbage, artichokes, strawberries and blueberries, guacamole hummus, and mozzarella balls, broccolini

I am careful about the produce I buy--it is often too close to expiration. I also avoid their bread products for the same reason. I like their packaged baking mixes and coffee products too.

I avoid Trader Joes as I try to eat healthy and avoid processed foods. It's a horrible store if you live a healthy lifestyle.

There was no purpose to that post other than to make others feel bad about their choices at a store that has some healthy food and some junky food, just like all grocery stores. It's bitchiness at its best.

+1, it is not the loyalty that is fierce, but the hatred. We all agree it has some packaged food, but no one is forcing you to buy or eat that if you want to eat only healthy. It is just a grocery store with its own brands of local and international foods that make it unique, not a 'health' store, whatever that means.

In the 90s a bunch of people got super obsessed with Trader Joes. Nobody does that anymore, and the folks who have shown up in the thread to claim that all TJs people are obsessed are tilting at an old stereotype. If y'all really need to criticize folks for liking a supermarket too much, go start a Wegmans thread to troll. At lest the stereotype of the obsessed Wegmans shopper is from this decade.

Yeah, we shouldn't feed the TJ Troll. She doesn't like anything we feed her anyway.

Because there is one troll (and hopefully just one) who keeps posting that all of Trader Joes is junk, when in fact it is not, and the other stores are the same if not worse.

And why do people feel personally offended by that? Do they own Trader Joes? If not, why get so upset if someone does not like a grocery store? I am puzzled by the fierce loyalty to Trader Joes. They have done an excellent marketing job to create such passionate defenders.

Also, if think it's a choice between "clean eating" (an eating disorder) and being obese, with no healthy and reasonable middle ground, you're definitely not normal.

Anyway. Can anyone tell me what the craze is about cookie butter? Does it basically taste like cookie dough? I keep seeing it, and seeing the craze, but don't want to buy a jar for something I can't figure out what it's about.

But I don't have a million little rules concerning my food. I never said I did. I merely pointed out that TJ is a junk food store and was attacked personally and viciously for pointing that out.

And you think I have issues.

I agree that you probably don't have an eating disorder, but you are pretty clearly a jackass.

I don't think anyone believes TJ's is a "health food store" - I don't see anyone on here saying that. That's your own spin. I personally see it is a place to get some - but not all - of my groceries. I wish I could go to one store for everything I need, but I can't. So I get organic dairy (cheese, milk, sour cream) and meat delivered from a farm, I buy produce at Costco or Giant, I get some stuff at TJ's. No need for all the vitriol. We're just talking about a grocery store.
