I believe they fell into the category of "Bohemian prep" (says the woman who went to a Friends college). At least Reed does. Colorado probably draws 'em for the skiing.

Okay, the Handbook was my bible back then, but Reed and Colorado College are the opposite of preppy. They make Williams look like a prep haven.

I know it's remote and that you have to WANT it. I went there. I was just amused by the thought of Muffy and Biff being horrified by Williamstown. Actually, though, there are plenty of preppy types at Williams, but they're not of the PYG/Vineyard Vines variety.

Of all the above we visited Babson, Hamilton, Princeton, Amherst, Connecticut College, Trinity and Williams. To us the preppiest would be Princeton, Trinity, Connecticut College and Princeton. Williams was the least or at least that was our obersrvation, it seemed more hippyish/international than anything, it is very remote.
