Simply put, if EVERY AA person in the US voted for Obama, he STILL would have needed almost the same percentage of White and Latino votes. And Obama had very similar percentage of the AA vote to the White Democratic candidates that preceded him – his voter turnout was higher. AA’s did not swing the election and while the GOP is stuck on the AA/White company line, they are missing the bigger point. I am no fan of Newt, but he has made some real sense lately. The GOP party line is outdated, is not inclusive and obstructionist. The base of the GOP sold its soul to the Tea Party (and its laughably inconsistent positions) and is now stuck in that a lot of “average” Americans think its policies are not very beneficial to them. If the GOP wants any National success going forward, it has to find a way to appeal to a broader base to understand that the issues have changed since Reagan was POTUS. It’s a different country. Truth be told, the independent Moderates are there for the taking.

I'm willing though to settle for voting that way simply being stupid.
Uh we don't think it is racist or stupid. And I can damn well guarantee that if Herm Cain or Ala Keyes was the 2008 nominee we would not have voted for him, whichdisproves your premise and seves to remind us how laughably thin your ranks are.
I heard plenty of people saying they voted for Obama "because they wanted to see history made". I'm not saying that's how he won, I'm saying that making the statement is inherently racist because the person if voting on color. I also said I would be willing to settle for stupid, because it's not considering the issues.
What your post also helps prove is that liberals are snarky and can't resist the lure of the insult. So by considering 'my ranks laughably thin', I will agree that people of character and morality are getting to be rare in this country.

Exactly! And, in 2004, when 90% plus whites voted for a white candidate instead of Al Sharpton, that was racism. In fact, given that 90% plus white Republicans have never voted for a black presidential candidate, all of them are racist by definition. Thanks for providing an easy to use "racism metric" PP.
Did all 90% of the white people state right out they were not voting for Sharpton because he's black or is it because they don't like Sharpton's behavior and ideas? Of course you are completely leaving out that element.

Yeah right. Blacks are racist because they won't tolerate your intolerance.
