Funny thread - I've often wondered about some of the names.
What's wrong with Children in the Shoe?
I hate Bar T.
I know an old woman who lived in a shoe
She had so many children she didn't know what to do
She gave them some broth, without any bread
And whipped them all soundly and sent them to bed.
This is exactly the opposite of what I'm looking for in a childcare center
LOL! I have never heard of this?
Really? It's a classic nursery rhyme.
If you haven't heard the rhyme, then doesn't it seem like a bizarre name? Like why a shoe?

Town is kinda nuts
Wait, what the heck is this? Is that the actual daycare? It's like a theme park....
I toured the one sterling. This is actually the day care. Super pretentious.

In many years of going here, I've never thought of it that way. Should make for a great drop off tomorrow.

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:I hate all the cutesy names. (Although the Fed ones *are* giving me a smile, this morning.) I like the ones which are just straightforward and informative: Tysons Corner Children's Center. Short, sweet, to the point. You got location, you got the mission. Done. It also tells me it is run by adults who can a) spell and b) not be too cutesy.
You would like working at our agencies then. We work for boring agencies which includes NASA's Goddard Child Development Center and the IRS Child Development Center. Pretty boring. I mean we have things like Space Camp and the Junior Astronauts program, you'd think we could come up with something entertaining.
