That Christina is okay to look at, but when she opens her mouth........I can't stand the "lisp".....she should shut up!!
Her tastes are good...mostly the same pallettes though, ..I do like earth tones....but keep your mouth closed, honey!!!!

DC is very expensive and can be depressing. A few people here get it that you need at least a million for a decent home where as it would cost about 200k in Texas.

Some people think that living in a shack some how makes you more responsible when the same cost house even after adjusting cost of living would be a McMansion else where.

I totally agree with PPs. Everything doesn't have to be a competition. I honestly don't care that you renovated a kitchen while the homeowner was out at dinner. Just show me a great interior designer (i.e. Sarah Richardson) or builder. Also, nix the short, choppy shots of the rooms. I can actually focus on something for more than 15 seconds at a time.

Have you read any of the articles about HH? Often the other "choices" weren't even part of the actual home search. They could be friends' or relatives' homes, other listings that agents hope will get exposure by being on tv or listings that aren't even in the area the homeowners are looking. Although I admit that I do still watch the show too. Lately there have been some "less crazy" people on it (that cute couple from Seattle and another one I can't remember right now). We still watch "House Hunters" to see the locales and the houses, but, jeez, I wish they'd lighten up on the rigid format and let what happens happen.

I miss Location, Location, Location which is the UKs version of House Hunters. I don't know how much fakery went on there, but it certainly felt like it had more veracity.

Many if not most of their early shows were filmed in Canada with good Canadian designers.

Sick of what is on hgtv! Why can't they find good American designers! Remember how much we all learned from Lynnette Jennings, and Chrispher Lowell. Please bring us back good shows where we can learn good decorating ideas showing us how we can do these things on our own. I just hate what they've done to House Hunters. Now everything has to be some stupid made-up conflict between the buyers. "Jeff wants a cool condo in the city while his wife Susan is hot for a big house in the suburbs. Which one will get what they want?" Then there's ridiculous "requirements" like how one absolutely refuses any house with wrought-iron staircase railings. Plus then you have the tut-tutting realtor.

And yet it's become so predictable--the empty house that's a bit out of their price range (excuse me, price point) is almost always the one they get, when miraculously they manage to negotiate it back down into their price range.

(And this is putting aside that yes, as we all know now, the house hunt itself is basically made up. But it was still interesting to watch until they felt the need to jack up the conflict.)

HGTV is unwatchable. There is no more gardening shows on anymore. House has admitted to being fake, so is Love it or list it, and Flip or Flop. The supposed Design Star winners seem to never get a permenant show or it gets cancelled right away. They need to change the name to the real estate channel.

Why are all the shows Canadian? Out of all the stuff here in the States, they can't find one GD American show?????

And the show American Handyman- hosted by Canadians Holmes and mcgilliyray. Really?? Canadians telling us they know how to pick the best American handyman?? Pleeze....

I would rape the kitchen cousins and make all the losers from Love it or List it-2 watch.

Btw, there are two love it or list its cause they are hitting up different parts of Canada. LIOLI-2 is called LIOLI-Vancouver when it airs there. The original one is filmed back in Ontario. Very different vibes/markets/amenities.
