They are the worst place to buy. Other stores have the same product at a cheaper price and provide much better service.

Once Reliable, Now Remarkably Careless

For more than two decades, our loyalty to this company was unwavering. Every appliance in our home came from them—a quiet testament to the trust they once inspired. That trust, sadly, has been worn down by years of neglect and a stunning collapse in professionalism.

Appointments vanish with last-minute cancellations. The technician assigned to our area routinely arrives late, unkempt, and unprepared—often without basic hygiene or shoe coverings. Politeness has given way to hostility; questions are met with curt, defensive replies or outright falsehoods about the repair process.

It is difficult to reconcile this with the company that once prided itself on excellence. The service team now operates with an air of indifference bordering on contempt. What was once a brand defined by reliability has devolved into one defined by rudeness.

For longtime customers, the disappointment is not just in the poor service—it’s in the unmistakable sense that the company has simply stopped caring.

We chose Bray and Scarff because their ads promise, "We beat the big box stores," but our experience has been the opposite. While the big box stores had the items we needed in stock, we’ve been waiting 60 days for ours.

To make matters worse, the front-loading gasket on our washing machine broke within a month of delivery. When we contacted the repair company, they blamed us and refused to cover the repair. Bray and Scarff offered NO help in advocating for us to get this covered under warranty. This lack of support was incredibly frustrating.

Additionally, the wash-and-dry unit we purchased does not dry clothes effectively at all. It’s clear now that the product doesn’t work as advertised, but we were never informed about this limitation at the time of purchase.

My advice: Stick with the big box stores. At least they have stock, and their customer service is far more reliable. We deeply regret trusting Bray and Scarff.

My neighbor had them do her kitchen remodel and instead of 2.5 months it took a year. She wanted to pull her hair out and says she’d never recommend them.

I’m sorry you all have had so many issues with them. My family have all used them for decades and I can’t recall a single issue. I just had a new appliance installed by them a few weeks ago.

In 1930 Bray & Scarff would have had morals and ethics. Morals & ethics have been replaced by legal documents and fine print. In 1930 B&S would not have sold crap to any customer - - only the best. If there were a problem, 930 B&S would have taken care of the problem immediately - - no song and dance, no poor repair/no repair, no stress - - just a place to buy a good product and get good service. 20th Century business is about computers and crap and the customer is a poor, sorry Sucker.

Have purchased a fridge, dishwasher, and microwave from Bray & Scarff on separate occasions and had great experiences with each of them. On the other hand, went to Lowe’s for a washer and dryer and it was a horrible ordeal.

Bray and Scarff has me at my wits end so thank goodness I found an appropriate place to vent!!! Bought a not-cheap dishwasher from them because they could deliver and install in 3 days; no other local company could. Yay! When they arrived, they took one look at my water shutoff valve and said they couldn't install the dishwasher because of the type of valve we had. Gee, sure wish they'd mentioned that rule when I bought the damn thing. Paid a plumber to change shutoff valve and scheduled install visit #2. Install visit 2 bombed because they only sent 1 installer and apparently a dishwasher requires 2 installers. So sorry, we can't install today. Scheduled install visit #3. For visit 3, the dishwasher actually got installed, with bonus extra water all over the floor and behind the cabinets. But, it was installed. Later I take a look under the sink and the installer taped (!) the drain hose to the sink. Now, I'm no professional, but even I know that's wrong. Scheduled visit #4 whereupon the installer removed the tape and bracketed the hose, but the $80 hose extension (which I paid for) is compressed and doesn't allow all water to drain. So now I've been waiting a month for a KitchenAid-branded hose extension. My salesperson at Tysons, who was so communicative and friendly during the sales process, has ghosted me.

B&S are excellent at sales and marketing and HORRIBLE AT SERVICE. If you buy from them, pray that nothing goes wrong and you will likely have a great experience. But something always goes wrong and it will take at least 3+ service visits to fix it (maybe).
