I am not the PP, and I can cook myself, but I can kind of see what he or she is saying. If you don't have even a basic understanding of what the terms mean, sometimes the directions can be confusing. The directions are written assuming a certain amount of shared basic cooking awareness. If you do not have even this, you may misinterpret something or misunderstand something. Example:

"Bone the chicken." A non-cook may think, "What? What does this mean? How does one do it?" Etc.

I don't know what kind of adoption you are familiar with but ours was non-profit and a charity. Our adoption agency was a nonprofit charity organization. Are you familiar with Catholic Charities?

What's the benefit to immigration?

Legal immigrants-usually highly skilled/trained. Some make it clear they're only here for the jobs and have a general disdain for Americans. Rather than rely on these workers, why not focus on training those already in the US?
