Why is so difficult to accept the rights of others, even though you don't personally like the decisions of others?
There are plenty of things I don't want for myself - (smoking marijuana, smoking cigarettes, eating fast food, etc), but I support the rights of others to choose differently for themselves.
You don't have to personally love or engage in something, to understand and respect the rights of others to choose and do differently - especially when they cause no harm to you.
It isn't. You just can't force it through legislation.
No one is forcing you to love these people through legislation.
Acceptance, isn't that what's being forced?
Won't getting rid of DOMA be sufficient? Remember, when Rosa Parks was pulled off that bus, she wasn't beaten by the populace, she was arrested because she was breaking GOVERNMENT regulation. Jim Crow laws was again, GOVERNMENT. So getting rid of onerous legislation like DOMA is what's called for. Replacing it with more legislation is ridiculous since it's always been Government that has caused the problems.
