This thread is exactly why we chose to avoid Haycock in our house hunting. The drama and nastiness is a real turn off.

That, and a Xanax prescription, probably.

Not sure why bad typing leads to a Xanax prescription.

Playing dumb and victimized don't mix. Drive carefully.

Letters are being mailed out on April 30 from the AAP office.

OP, how did you find out your child is already center eligible? Has anyone received the notification letters?

Are you for real? If so, I admire you for your heart of gold, because some of these Cluster 2 parents will be bashing Haycock and making you and your neighbors out to be a villains for years to come. I thought I was emphathetic, too, because somewhere along the 1001st post complaining about Kelly Shears "showing her true colors," teachers "betraying" the children, and kids getting "thrown under a bus," I realized some of these folks are just flat-out drama queens. It's time to move on, folks.

If you are looking for drama qeunns you may need a mirror. You seem to be particulary bent out of shape on this issue.

I'm for real. As I said, I thought there was overly dramatic rhetoric on both sides. Others will villify me? So be it.

Or are you implying that they would put up with severe overcrowding if it's McLean kids just not the great unwashed from Falla Church and Pimmit Hills?

Please. You are not keeping up with the threads. Pimmit Hills is hot, hot, hot! And Haycock is in Falls Church.

Really, the best we can hope for is that, once the two new AAP centers are up and running at Lemon Road and Westbriar, some of the Cluster 2 parents will get over their inferiority complex and stop looking for excuses to bash Haycock. You aren't fooling anyone about your motives here.

The School Board will need to focus its attention on what to do with the overcrowding at schools like Westgate, Shrevewood and Kilmer, not the incremental impact on Haycock of a handful of kids from CB. I know this is hard for Cluster 2 folks to get their arms around, since many of their schools were so under-enrolled for years that FCPS considered closing them, but once the Haycock renovation is done the Board's priorities will lie elsewhere.
