Extremely common in the deep south where people have been proud and poor (often landed) for generations.
BTW: My high-school bf was a trey and Jewish. How unpreppy is that? But from a wealthy southern Jewish family so there's that.

Der Leib means body or belly in German.
Either are horrid choices for a name.

Another German here- Is this your first name? How do you pronounce "Liebe" in English? And out of curiousity, is there a meaning or reason behind your name?
