I, for one, hate hearing AS described as "the mild form of Autism" in the press. Such a blanket statement. For my DC, it's been anything but mild.

I have no idea what qualifies as "mild" Asperger's. I'm the poster whose developmental pediatrician characterizes DS as "classic" Asperger's. I've never heard any professional use that term. My guess is that people mean the person is "mildly" afflicted with autism and is at the higher functioning range (which is what Asperger's is).

I don't think there is a "worse" but I will say, today, dealing with severe ADHD feels like a huge mountain to climb for my daughter and for me.
