The teachers and parents cannot run a school, they cannot strategize how to deal with the complexities of dcps central office. They cannot see the school from the larger perspective that is the principal's job. There well may be people that can take over and the school will continue to be successful, but there was a reason that he was appointed to run the combined school and it may be that it is not so easy to find a principal with the skill set to make FS successful.

According to the article, the principal cleared it with DCPS but DCPS won't confirm they approved the hiring. His wife is currently a teacher at Hardy MS with no administrative experience. The principal sees no issue with this hiring.........is it me? Doesn't DCPS have rules about nepotism? Maybe DCPS doesn't know what that word means...........

Is there evidence that this kind of thing creates such a terrible school environment that the principal at one of the District's best HS should be FIRED for even suggesting such an arrangement?
Are you kidding? Making such a suggestion shows such a lack of judgement. It shows an arrogance. Those things lead to a lack of confidence in his performance. It makes folks ask, "So where else is he attempting to circumvent the rules?" He comes off as someone who says, "It's my way or the highway." No one, and I mean no one is that good. Anyone with a head that big and such poor judgement needs to go.
