Here's a link to a report from the University of Maine on hazing in college, which includes background on the high percentage of students who've experienced hazing behavior in high school. It is also interesting in candidly reporting the responses of many participants who accentuate the positive aspects of hazing/initiation rituals.

This is a weird mix of very defensive adults and nasty teenage boys, I think. For every thoughtful post explaining why head shaving rituals on high school sports team are not a good idea, the formula seems to be 1 good faith disagreement, 2 disagreements by people who have not read the posts they disagree with, and 2 vile posts by teenagers.
Interesting. Ultimately casts St. Stephens St. Agnes in a very negative light to any outside observer.
