Thanks!!!!! The way I read that, if it affects more than 15% of the school you're moving from OR to, so maybe we'd be over 15% of the "new" center school. I think they are trying to comply with the "phases," though. I think they are in phase 1 and will see input in a pro forma way before issuing a final decision -- even though they essentially already have a final decision. However, they should not have represented it to the Haycock community last night as final, when it sounds like it can't be final yet. I really think they are trying to pull the wool over the Haycock community's eyes on both of the issues at hand.

It's exactly 15%. They're at 950 and they're moving 142. We're not leaving without a fight. My 3rd grader hasn't even been there 2 months, and they've already decided to move them out next year. I am appalled that FCPS wants to jerk 8 year olds around like that.

Haycock is a great school, but one wouldn't know it by the way the parents acted last night! I'm sure any parent would never want their child to act the way the parents acted last night - complete disrespect.

Exactly. The teachers are incredible, and my kids are receiving a top notch education...but the parents are rude and selfish (ever tried the kiss n ride? It's more like a flip n ride) It won't be an issue for us much longer, though. Apparently my AAP kids are getting booted elsewhere.

It's not what I regularly witness at Haycock. I see happy parents, teachers and children there.

Its no surprise by the horrid attitude of the mclean poster making fun of donating to other schools and putting down any schools without the mclean zip code.

'm glad the Haycock parents are involved and aren't doormats like parents at some schools. While I'd hope they'd always maintain a civil tone about the renovation plans and schedule, Janie Strauss is a big girl who has been on the School Board many years. I'm sure she can handle it.
