Is this petition being floated by childish people like you?

I believe children deserve to be rewarded and not punished for their academic performance and achievement. Education for our kids should move FORWARD and not BACKWARD. I will float, sign and circulate any petition supporting these tenets. It appears at least 800 others are doing the same.

Your attempts to suppress expression and opinion is doomed to fail. Just ask Dickie Morris, Karla Rove, and Rusha Lindbaugh. Ignorance is bliss.

OP here. I originally posted the link to the 2.0 petition on DCUM. I did not post it on the gifted and talented website bring referenced, nor am I even familiar wih that site/organization. I simply want my children to receive the math acceleration they would have been afforded under the old curriculum.

That means the moderator, the Gifted and Talented Association president approved the anonymous poster. It means the anonymous poster is known to the Gifted and Talented Association. So, this is a stealth campaign to promote one man's agenda. Check out the Gifted and Talented Association email list before signing the petition. Buyer beware.

Hoohum, yawn.

I don't understand the bitterness or lack of fulfillment in your life that produces an outburst like this. Just pure vitriol in favor of a petition promoted by an anonymous group?? You just lost my vote.

These irrational and disrespectful rants serve to highlight the fact that this effort is something more than what it looks like. Just ask the commonsense question---why do the sponsors and promoters hide behind anonymity?

Interesting. Mostly Asians and I recognize Wooton names.

Another stupid attempt to mislead the public into embracing a hidden agenda?

This proves the point, like the MCPS leadership, the Montgomery County Public, also recognize the widening achievement and performance gap between Asians and Whites. Someone on these boards stated the elimination of math pathways was designed to reduce this "embarrassing and humiliating" gap?

Those posters have a point. Much like the Presidential election...hostility and hatred for a person, race or ethnicity...can be so overwhelming and blinding that people will shoot themselves in the foot.

Why the anonymity behind the petition? The GTA email list shows just one parent behind the push for math based segregation. Before signing the petition ask:

why math only?
what is the hidden agenda?
why anonymous posting?

IN ALMOST two days over 200 people have signed the petition, and then 100 more...with their names and towns...for some reason change.org has 4 of the same petition listed, two with no signatures, one with one, and one with almost 500....but they are the same petition...they just need to delete the other three so as not to confuse people. There is for sure a huge number of concerned parents out there who are signing their names...check it out...also on facebook...
