OP, I'm one of the posters who responded to your original post, and I'm so happy to hear your wonderful news. I also ultimately got and stayed pregnant again, and my baby girl is now 9 mos. I'm so glad that you may have found comfort in the story I shared. DCUM can be a harsh place (and so can DC), but every once in a while there's some shared humanity.

I'm teared up to0 OP, I read this whole thread, so it was like reading a storybook, with a happy ending.

Your story gives me hope.

Happy Birthday OP-Baby!

I'm endlessly grateful to report that our beautiful, healthy daughter just had her first birthday. I got pregnant again three months after all the heartache that I poured out in this thread. We were on pins and needles for the first few months of the pregnancy, till all the genetic tests came back -- but for whatever reason, we managed to hit the jackpot this time around. Fourth try was the charm for us, I guess.

I hope this brings a little bit of hope to others who are going through the same hell we did. These stories don't always end happily, but sometimes they do -- even when the outlook seems bleak at best. My daughter is living proof.

And I still shake my head in wonder and gratitude at the incredible support that I got from this forum. I actually printed out this whole thread and saved it, so that I could always remember the caring that came from total anonymous strangers. It reassures me to know that the world is full of many such hidden kindnesses. I sometimes sit on the Metro and think, "Maybe one of the people in this car was one of the posters on DCUM." So once again -- thank you. You guys made a real difference during one of the hardest and saddest times of our lives.

Oh my lord OP, this is so very wonderful. I am in tears both for you, your family and because we were all able to help each other.

Happy birthday to your little one!! Enjoy the cake.

Just bumping the thread to see if OP had an update on her journey to becoming a mom. I think of her sometimes and wish her well.

So sorry OP. I can't even begin to imagine how you feel right now. Just know that someone is thinking about you and is wishing you much peace at this difficult time.

Hugs OP - we went through something similar earlier this year.
