My name is Christina but people who don't know me well call me Christine. I hate that. "Christine" sounds like trailer trash. The "a" make ALL the difference.

And what about Khrystyna? OMG.

Yes on Tracy. Ever seen the Philadelphia Story? Heroine's name is Tracy and she is an heiress.

Lucy and Lily are upper class Victorian/Edwardian names.

This thread is ridiculous.

Why do people classify a name as low class or classy, etc? There's always going to be someone who doesn't like your name, even if you think you pick something elagant and classy, whatever type of name that's supposed to be.

Is Andy low class? I think it's an accountant or something.

I have family members with Ys in their names (some of which have been mentioned already) and yes, they are all working class. Factory work up to manager or nurse.

Sally is like Betty, not indicative of class because it's a traditional nickname for the classic Sarah. Of course, it's coming into style as a stand-alone name in the middle class which means it's likely to move to working class popularity in another decade or so.

Is that low class? My guess is that real high class people do not need fancy names to be high class

Yes, I think "Wendy" is kind of down there.

I always thought the names ending in "i" or with unusual doubling of consonants just sounded slutty.

the one who picked a girl named Tinley or Tenley or something equally stupid? WTH are they going to name their kids??

They were on different seasons, but I think Kiptyn and Tenley did start dating on Bachelor Pad.
