Subject: Moving (suddenly!) to DC/Columbia Heights, what great (or good) PK3 can we get into mid July?
By the way, Little Flower Montessori is in Columbia Heights and many of my friends have sent their kids there and are happy. Also, do apply separately to DC bilingual and Centronia. Centronia's wait list really MOVES, so even if you don't get in before the start of school, you might be able to get in mid-year, and so if your first choice doesn't work out.... My kids were very happy there!

I would try Appletree on Girard Street. I got my daughter in last year in late august

Tip for your PK 4 year.
All charters have a lottery, and the good ones have a waitlist. Some of the desirable charters order the waitlist number based on the date/time you applied. IOW, if you're the first person to fill out the application, you're going to be first on the WL (which pretty much guarantees you'll get in). I know of these two, but there might be others. Oh, and open house/application season begins in the Fall. As you've learned the hard way, if you wait until Spring, you've got only the dregs to choose from.

Yu Ying (Mandarin Immersion)
Be sure to check them out, particularly the application deadlines (which sometimes occur before the first open house).

Our two kids went/go to Rosemount
We love it and teh teachers.
(management another story)
But it is bi lingual draws allr aces and classes. Id see if they have any slots.
Not free or cheap but year round.

Thanks, I did see that it's not nearby. I met a teacher who taught in Anacostia, she had some heart-breaking stories.
