The complaining about your husband thing - I admit it can go overboard, the husband bashing. And who likes that. But I think the people that never have a bad word to say - even a little thing - are the kind of people that are not very open. Because everyone needs to vent sometimes. And that's fine if they want to be less open with the details of their lives, but since I am a very open person, I enjoy people who are the same.
Yeah, we couldn't be friends. I like a drink but I've found that the kind of people constantly bad mouthing their husbands (and encouraging you to) are the same people ruining dinner with their "couple banter" i.e. public bickering. Point is, no one needs to hear you gush like a Mormon housewife but endless bitching and public sniping is self indulgent and eminently slappable.
Some women I've met REALLY like to bond over "my husband is a useless moron" type stuff but they're all divorced now so

I don't drink much because I don't do well with alcohol - it goes right to my head and it's unpleasant for me physically.
I've always been like this - to the point that I wondered if I was allergic to red wine. But I have lots of friends who drink and my DH more than makes up for my abstinence.
I can't be friends with people who constantly badmouth mutual friends - I just don't trust them.

I've found I'm actually capable of being friendly (if not close friends) with people who I never thought i could be - racist, Republicans, tea partiers even.
