The only one I like is the candy bar w/ bags. Who doesn't like candy? Plus, it is sort of interactive.

Seriously, who cares? You shouldn't expect favors at a wedding anyway, so anything extra is just a nice thought, even if it is engraved stuff (and no, I didn't give out anything engraved at our wedding), and it doesn't seem really nice to berate people over their choices of gifts to their guests.

Maybe it is because I tend to go to weddings of only people I am close to, and most of the weddings of my friends were in the 90s, the time of Things Remembered and the engraving craze, but I like looking through my memory box and seeing the match boxes with names and dates on them, or the engraved champagne glasses. Whatever.

My favorite favor, all that said, were these bags of candies I had not had before or since. I can't even describe them-but they were amazing!

Love this thread. I thought I didn't hand out favors...that's how memorable they were. But then I remembered, we placed mardi gras masks (feather ones, pretty) at people's place settings.

I don't know if people kept them but our wedding album has some beautiful and fun pics with the masks. (it was a destination wedding to New Orleans).

Worst for some/good for me: Shot glass with couple's name date. I love shot glasses and even have a nice collection (I know the value judgement some of y'all might be making...it is fine). ANyway, couple divorced and yet I proudly display this cute glass.

Best: Tiny altoid mints in tin with couples info.

We had a rule for ours - only spend time money and brain space on shit we cared about. Favors, programs, and many other things didn't make the cut. Our wedding was wonderful.
